Diversity is a popular word these days, and that is a good thing. From my point of view, the diversity discussion is fast becoming part of lives. More than ever, we have been trying to learn and adapt ourselves to the gender, ethnic, and cultural diversity of our society. We need to recognize that we are now living in a plural society.
Diversity also brings strength to women to seek equivalent treatment in terms of rights, benefits, obligations, and opportunities.
Women have been learning from diversity that equity is the way for a better future. We do not want to be treated alike to others; we want our chance to show how far we can go holding hands.
Bringing women to network, share their histories and knowledge for what they can contribute, helps to develop an appreciation for the challenges other women face. It highlights journeys of women’s varied experiences at work, in their lives and in the world. Is there any better way of celebrating and living diversity and equity than being among other strong women? For sure, no!
To be even more diverse and to develop together the sense of equity, we have to be together. We have to share time, food, beverages, laughs, and tears. This is what we want you to do with us, and that is the reason we want you to be part of our WomenWork events.
